Penn Dutch Masters the Art of Sausage
Did you know Penn Dutch makes over 15 varieties of sausage? That’s at least 3 times more than you’ll find at any supermarket! And that our chicken sausage is 96% fat free?
Our Chief Sausage Maker and his team make sausage virtually every day. You can watch them through our big picture window behind the sausage case in our Margate store.
You’ll be able to see our state of the art equipment that is meticulously maintained to the highest standards.
We start with fresh pork or chicken and mix in a variety of spices, dehydrated onions, peppers, cheese, and salt – all depending on the recipe. No MSG in our sausage. The mixture is then pumped into the casing twisted and cut. We also offer sausage without casing for recipes that call for patties or crumbles.
Average daily production is 3,000-6,000 links for both of our stores (that’s more than a million a year!) You can have sausage the same day it’s made. It generally keeps about 7-10 days in the fridge, but now with our new packaging where the air is replaced with oxygen, your sausage will last closer to 2 weeks.
